Urbanisation in the country leads to an increase in demand for elevators and escalators

5 Feb 2018

IEE Expo – India’s exclusive show all set to showcase high end technology in this sector. Government of Maharashtra strongly supports accounting to soaring demands in the market

Growing urbanisation and an increase in commercial and industrial spaces in the country has led to a revolutionary change in tier one and tier two cities of India. Cities once with buildings not more than three floors are now redeveloping into skyscrapers towering each other. The growing number of tall buildings, malls and industrials areas has created a huge market for elevators, escalators and its components. This tremendous progress has been so rapid that it has made the Indian elevator market the second largest in the world and it is further expected to grow at 8.9% CAGR from 2016 crossing 104,000 units by 2021*.

Focussing on the growing segment of elevator, escalators and their components, the International Elevator and Escalator Expo (IEE Expo) scheduled from 27 February – 1 March 2018 will be a pioneer platform to explore the possibilities this market has to offer.

Holding its first edition under the Messe Frankfurt umbrella, IEE Expo will be an ideal platform to establish business with trusted brands in the elevator and escalator market. The exhibition will host over 150 companies from India, China, Italy, Germany, Taiwan, Turkey, Switzerland and the UK. IEE Expo will showcase an array of technological advancements with smart and energy efficient options.

Covering categories like passenger lifts, service elevators, home and apartment elevators, garage and parking elevators, elevators and lifts for invalids, elevators without machine room, controllers, controller components, door drives and related accessories, designer cabins, hoist ropes, trailing cables, variable voltage and variable frequency inverters, push buttons, car operating panels etc, IEE Expo 2018 will bring global decision makers, industry leaders and technological experts all, under one roof.

Key OEMs like Fujitec, Hitachi, Otis India and Creesta are some of the prominent names that will be seen on the show floor. The visitors that will benefit from this exhibition include elevator and escalator component suppliers, builders and developers, architects, civil & electrical engineers, project management consultants, service consultants, engineering & architect students, corporates, independent enthusiast, government contractors, facility managers, distributors, hospital administrators and business entrepreneurs.

Receiving strong support from the Maharashtra government, IEE Expo 2018 will showcase high end technologies that will be in-line with the steps taken by the government to develop and increase the use of elevators and escalators at railways, airports, metros etc. With taller buildings and larger space being consumed to create malls and commercials complexes, there is a need for new technologies, energy efficient alternatives and safety measures to be introduced in the market.   IEE Expo will not only bring innovations to the shop floor but also host a seminar like the Electrical Inspectors Conclave amongst other insightful events on all three days of the exhibition.

Now that escalators, elevators and moving walkways are also used on a large scale at public places, IEE Expo 2018 will be a key platform for both exhibitors and business visitors at witnessing technological innovations, aesthetic designs and the progress in the vertical transportation industry.

The exhibition will be open from 27 February – 1 March 2018 at Bombay Exhibition and Convention Centre, Mumbai.
